I quit! Time to get on with travelling

Posted on 27 January 2009 by admin

I FINALLY QUIT MY JOB

For the first time in ages I am truly happy, have not come home and ranted and raved about this or that. weight off shoulders, in control of my life.

The only trouble is…… what am i going to do now.

i’d rather not think about that right now. Also congratulations to my wonderful colleague who I know reads this from time to time.

She may not think it now but it really is the best thing to happen to her – she can now get out and experience new things, and hopefully find a job where she is valued fully and will become one of the best damn people in her field of expertise. Change may seem scary, but it truly is the most repleneshing energy source.

Also, check out my wonderful RSS feed (and snazzy rad logo)

    Hi Overland Wannabe

Just noticed you registered as a follower of my blog. Glad to have you aboard.

I just read your last post about your employment. I have to agree – it sure is liberating to just decide to quit. I’ve both quit and been made redundant at various times and I’d rather quit!

Maybe when I get my whole project to actually shipping to Europe you can give me some pointers on where I should go in person.

Best of luck with your travel job hunting.

    Regards

    Silama

Thats the hard bit out of the way! The travel industry is going to go thru hard times but at least there are heaps of bargains going at the moment

I am hoping to pick up a few bargains. Dragoman Tours for instance are offering 10% for all made redundant, which I know doesn’t apply to me, but is an excellent marketing idea!

Am looking at trading in my current van for a mercedes 508d, ultra-reliable and cheap as cheaps. Got to do some research tonight though as my work internet connection won’t allow me to connect to the European van sites :(

    Thanks for everyones’ comments!

I admire your courage and your enthusiasm. I often think I will do this or that, but always find reasons to hold myself back.

I know you will find something interesting and worthwhile.

  6. OverlandSi Says:

    Thanks L. Venkata!

I’m not sure about the courage yet – I’m still thinking I’m possibly a bit daft! I hope my enthusiasm will be enough to keep me going!

I am lucky in the fact that I have very few things to hold me back, so it was a bit easier to make the decision!

It was still a bloody scary experience – especially as I have nothing yet arranged to go to! But it is exciting as well,I’d recommend it to anyone who wants to bring real refreshment to their lives! I hope that you will also one day be able to go and do “this and that”
