Evening all, I have been tagged by the wonderful Lis over at the Travel for the Over 30′s blog, in one of these wonderfully easy yet enthrallingly interesting games that us travel bloggers do.
So, I am to tell you now seven secrets about yours truly and why I love to travel. So without further ado, please continue reading below or click here to add a comment.
I was born and raised, for most of my life, in Germany and I still consider Germany “home”.- I changed Primary School 12 times as my farther was in the army and was posted to different places
- I went to a military boarding school in England so that I wouldn’t have to move about so much in my secondry school education – and we moved only once after this!
- I have never owned a car that could be described as “normal”, it’s either been a bright colour or some strange, yet practical, travel wagon.
- I love country music and electronic chillout
- I play the saxaphone.
- I travel because it is the only thing that presents a new experience everyday.
Ok so now I have to tag seven more blogs to do the same, hopefully some will respond, but mostly these are links to blogs I read and find interesting.
Flight Level 390 – this is a blog from a pilot, Dave, and gives a good view into their lives and thoughts. I would feel quite safe flying with this guy!
Also Kevin Littleton keeps a good blog of his daily adventures and thoughts. A good read that contains thought-provoking pieces.
Previously.Bitten is pebble dashed with brilliant photos, informative travel articles and some brilliant travel tips!
The Foodie and Travel Bug Blog from Mei Ting is also good for travellers, it is filled with all sorts of information and if Mei does a post about food I will usually end up salivating like Pavlov’s dogs!
An absolute must for all travel bloggers is Nomadic Matt’s site, brilliant photos, brilliant layout, brilliant writings – I think its a crap site though, nothing to do with jealousy, nothing at all. hehe
For those that are interested in building your own campervan then a look at “The Journey Continues” is an absolute must. I love the ideas on this blog and may soon steal some ideas for my own DIY Campervan
And finally for all those who wish to take up the nomad style of living then you must visit Working Nomad – a fellow brit who has “made the dream”
Just before I go though – a quick reminder of my offer from the previous post
You can add a compliment here (comments sound too negative) hehe.
Happy Travelling

I am getting ready to go to the Philippines. I enjoy traveling myself. I often post about my adventures even if they are short day trips around the area that I live on my blog. I enjoy reading your blog and your reasons for traveling.

Ii can’t believe I just found your blog for the first time! I, too, was a military brat (well, actually a civilian brat) and grew up in Germany. Where all were you stationed? (We were in Hanau, Zweibrucken, Fulda, and Osterholz-Scharmbeck–all are now closed! I graduated high school in Vicenza, Italy.)
I’m also now living in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Germany and traveling as much as I can, too! (I also have a travel blog–just click through my name to find out about my Journeys and Adventures.)

@Farther Earth – Am trying to make some money – it isn’t working, but the main point of this blog is to provide some sort of entertainment for the readers and to catalogue events.
@Midlife – Am on my way over to your blog very soon! Thanks for your comment

Hey, have your travels taken you to the Southern Coast of Africa, the Garden Route? I’m from Port Elizabeth on Africa’s Southern coast and I can recommend this area simply for unsurpassed natural beauty
– admittedly, I am a bit bias

@Steve Ballmer – My ego is now inflating, my colleague now hates me haha!
@Sanya Travel – Thank you very much, my colleague now wants some criticism as my ego is swelling! hehe

@Lateral Drawer – you must have commented just as I was answering a few others! I have always wanted to travel to Africa, and may well do so after my van travels!

Ah! Wonderful. The Count Has found a stimulating travel blog. Though he is no longer a traveler to any degree he has seen a good number of places in this old world. Also, tried to play the tenor saxophone while a teenager and ran up against a complete lack of talent. Cheers.

Wonderful site. I agree with your reasons for traveling. My boyfriend and I are art students so ‘normal’ has never been a possibility. He’s currently wants to live in a sailboat while we attend graduate school in Rhode Island. All I can say is, it will always be interesting. And if the boat fails, a yurt is the next option.
February 25th, 2009 at 2:51 pm
@Count Sneaky, glad you find it stimulating! Complete lack of talent is also one of my problems, I can only play when I have the music in front of me. I can’t “play by ear”
@M.M.E. – I so want to live on a boat! And yurts are cool, there is a campsite down in southern England that has Yurts you can stay in. Awesomeness!

Have only just got around to checking out all your new activity. (You KNOW how busy it gets!) Very impressive. Also noticed your references to my blog – thanks for the links. Keep up the good work – I will look in more often now you are also in the “building” mode. I may pick your brains (if I may) on info. with regard to my European aspirations when they get a bit closer.
Best Wishes. Maybe we will run into each other on the road one day.

You certainly may pick my brains, maybe we shall meet on the grey stuff somewhere. I am going to get onto some posts about building of the site as well (when its actually completed and not badly sized as it is currently!
